UK Prepares for Impending Snowfall and Winter’s “Final Revenge”

Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

With a major snow and Polar blast expected to swoop across northern parts on April 24, the United Kingdom is bracing for an abrupt return of wintry weather as April draws to a close.

In stark contrast to the recent period of good weather, a significant region of northern Britain is predicted to suffer snowfall in the upcoming days, according to WX Charts, which is based on data from Met Desk.

Senior meteorologist Jim Dale of British Weather Services issued a warning, stating that after a “most pleasant” weekend, the country may have “transient snow” before the month is up. Dale commented on the difference in weather, pointing out that although it’s nice everywhere else, the UK could soon have to deal with lower temperatures and possibly snowfall.

Dale underlined, “This is the Jekyll & Hyde month after all,” emphasizing how unpredictable April’s weather may be.

Although there is currently no mention of snow in the Met Office’s prognosis for the remainder of April, it does highlight the possibility of cooler and less settled weather in the coming days, especially in northern and eastern regions. The forecast indicates a turn towards below-average temperatures after a brief period of increased warmth.

Forecasts for May show a balance between drier and wetter than usual conditions, so there is cautious optimism. But as April comes to an end, the UK gets ready for what might be the last stand of winter by being on the lookout for the impending return of inclement weather.
