As temperatures rise, the UK braces for its first 30°C heatwave of the year, with more scorching weather expected to follow. Jim Dale, a senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, predicts a significant increase in temperature, indicating a transition toward summer weather patterns.

Dale notes that, while summer may still seem distant, the country is moving toward warmer weather. He observes a change from a wet winter and early spring to a possible drier summer, implying a shift toward more pleasant and sunny weather.

Drawing parallels with recent scorching weather in Europe, Dale expects that the UK will share in the warmth, particularly in prone areas, as May proceeds into June and July. Despite sporadic rain bands forecast in the next weeks, the overall trend points to drier conditions.

While breaking the UK’s temperature record of 40.3C established in July 2022 seems questionable, Dale accepts the possibility and urges caution as the country grapples with rising temperatures.

Stay tuned for updates on this evolving weather situation as the UK braces for hotter days ahead.
