Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, on Friday in Rabat. The talks took place during the UNHRC retreat hosted by Morocco on November 21-22.
Discussions focused on strengthening human rights protections and exploring reforms to the UN Human Rights Council (HRC). Held under Morocco’s presidency of the HRC, the retreat underscores the country’s commitment to advancing global human rights initiatives.
The event gathered ambassadors, permanent representatives of HRC member states, and UN regional group representatives to address pressing human rights challenges and propose ways to improve the Council’s operations.
