Truckee, California Two people lost their lives in a tiny plane crash that occurred close to a Truckee community. The incident happened in the area of Olympic Blvd. and Glenshire Dr. just after 6:30 p.m.
It is still unclear whether there were any other passengers on the plane as Truckee Police Department officials continue to investigate the matter.
The truckee Tahoe Airport made a statement on Facebook identifying the wrecked aircraft as a single-engine TBM registered as N960LP. At the time of the tragedy, the aircraft was apparently trying to land at Truckee Tahoe Airport.
To handle the aftermath, emergency response teams from Truckee Tahoe Airport, Truckee Police, Truckee Fire, Nevada County Sheriff, and Nevada County Coroner have all been sent to the location.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are expected to arrive on Sunday to begin further investigations into the disaster. After their evaluation, more details are anticipated to be given.
The town of Truckee is in mourning for the people lost and is waiting for more information regarding this awful event.
