Zelensky: North Korean Battalion Destroyed in Kursk

Read Time:44 Second

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a battalion of North Korean soldiers, alongside Russian paratroopers, was wiped out during recent clashes in the Kursk region. In his evening address, Zelensky shared information from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky about the heavy losses suffered by Russian forces over the past two days.

The intense fighting took place near a village in Kursk, which has been partially occupied by Ukrainian forces since August and is located near Ukraine’s Sumy region. “Up to a battalion of infantry, including North Korean troops, was lost,” Zelensky stated in a post on social media.

A battalion typically consists of 300 to 1,500 soldiers, highlighting the significant impact on Russian military strength. The involvement of North Korean forces raises concerns about Moscow’s dependence on external allies in the ongoing war, underscoring the severity of the conflict in this border area.
