Surprisingly, Meghan Markle once said something honest about how different the personalities are in the British royal family at a big event. There was a time when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales, were known as the “Fab Four.” They went to many important events together, including an important engagement just two months before Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.
Meghan made her first public appearance with her future in-laws at this event, which was all about the work of the Royal Foundation, a charity that was started by Princes William and Harry. “Thank goodness it’s such different personalities and that everyone’s very communicative because that’s how you can really see bigger change,” she said about the royal family’s different characters.
In her speech, Meghan praised the fact that the royal family has a range of different views, implying that this would help progress. “How are you going to push the limits if everyone thinks the same way?” “How are you going to really break through with a different head-set?” she asked.
However, royal author Tom Bower says that this apparently positive comment made the executives at the Royal Foundation uncomfortable and made things awkward between the couples. Bower’s book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors, says that Harry’s interruption of Meghan’s speech about supporting women was more important than was first thought.
This new information shows how complicated the royal family’s relationships are. It may have shown the underlying issues that led to the split between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
