Officially, Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) has announced that Wednesday, June 5, 2024, would be the date of its Annual Shareholders’ Meeting. This year’s meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. CDT and will be held entirely virtually, which is a change from previous years. The meeting will not take place in person; instead, shareholders will be able to participate via a live audio webcast.
Voting by shareholders on official business and proxy proposals is one of the main agenda issues. Prior to the June 5 meeting, shareholders may vote by phone, mail, email, or electronic means. Aside from that, during the meeting itself, eligible shareholders may cast their votes online.
Friday, April 12, 2024 is the record date for shareholders who can participate in the virtual meeting and cast a vote. The June 5 virtual meeting access details and voting procedures will be outlined in the company’s proxy statement, which is expected to be released in late April. Via a connection on Walmart’s website, the general public can watch the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting without being able to cast a ballot.
Walmart will perform its customary Friday Associates Celebration at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on June 7 in connection with the shareholders meeting. The ceremony, which honors Walmart staff globally along with stockholders, will begin at 8 a.m. CDT. The event, which will be streamed via a link on the business website, will include speeches from senior leadership, entertainment, and a thank-you note for all of Walmart’s employees and shareholders.
