To improve Floridians’ access to affordable healthcare, Walmart Health has announced ground-breaking partnerships with Ambetter from Sunshine Health and Orlando Health. Together with these prestigious healthcare providers, Walmart Health hopes to offer easy access to high-quality care alternatives at every stage of the patient experience through Care Coordination Agreements.
Sunshine Health Partnership’s Ambetter and Walmart Health:
Walmart Health and Ambetter from Sunshine Health, a top insurance supplier via the Florida health insurance market, are collaborating. Through this partnership, Walmart Health Centres will now be preferred providers in Clay, Duval, Hillsborough, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, and Seminole counties in Florida as part of Ambetter’s Value Plan. The partnership’s main goals are to make sure Floridians have access to cheap and readily available healthcare options through patient involvement, care coordination, and referral management.
“We’re excited to offer Ambetter from Sunshine Health members quality care in one location, conveniently located adjacent to Walmart Supercenters where many members already shop for groceries and everyday essentials,” said Richard Fuchs, Senior Vice President at Walmart, emphasising the shared commitment to local communities.
Kevin Counihan, CEO of Ambetter Health, expressed excitement, saying, “We are well-positioned to help deliver quality, affordable health care options in new locations across the state by working together with Walmart Health in Florida.”
Partnership between Orlando Health and Walmart Health:
To improve care coordination efforts, Walmart Health is also collaborating with Orlando Health, a network of hospitals located throughout Florida that is private and not-for-profit. Through efficient care transitions and strong communication between Walmart Health Centres and Orlando Health doctors, the partnership seeks to improve the patient experience.
The community effort was emphasised by Eric Prochnow, Senior Director of Clinical Network Partnerships at Walmart, who said, “Value-based outcomes are a community effort, and it is a natural evolution to work closely with other providers in the community that have shared goals.”
Orlando Health Senior Vice President Cary D’Ortona highlighted the opportunity to promptly determine patient requirements and enhance outcomes in the Orlando region.
Walmart Health’s Ongoing Florida Commitment:
Walmart Health has added 17 new health centres to its network this year in Florida as part of its ongoing commitment to provide healthcare that is more convenient, inexpensive, and accessible. Offering primary care, laboratories, X-rays, EKGs, behavioural health, dentistry, and some specialised services, Walmart Health has 23 locations around the state. It is open seven days a week, including convenient weekend and evening hours. On Sundays, telehealth options are also accessible.
