With just hours left, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives is scrambling to find a temporary funding solution, replacing a deal that seemed nearly finalized but collapsed due to mounting pressure from fiscal conservatives, Trump, and Musk. House Speaker Mike Johnson is facing harsh criticism from both Democrats and Republicans for mishandling the situation.
“If there is going to be a shutdown of government, let it begin now, under the Biden Administration,” Trump wrote on social media early Friday, attempting to shift the blame onto Democrats while suggesting Republicans could still assist in resolving the issue.
