UK Boosts Missile Support for Ukraine

Read Time:52 Second

The UK has sent additional Storm Shadow long-range missiles to Ukraine, marking the first major arms shipment since Keir Starmer became Prime Minister in July. Bloomberg reported that the delivery occurred several weeks ago to help Ukraine cope with a shortage of long-range missiles.

Sources familiar with the matter confirmed the missiles were delivered before the US and UK lifted restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles in Russian territory in early November, though specific details about the shipment’s timing or quantity were not disclosed for security reasons.

The Ministry of Defence declined to comment on the transfer, stating that such an announcement would “only benefit Vladimir Putin.” However, they reaffirmed the UK’s unwavering support for Ukraine.

This delivery follows the UK’s earlier provision of Storm Shadow missiles in April under former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, which were part of the largest military aid package to Ukraine to date.

The latest move underscores the UK’s continued commitment to supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.
