Trump, who has long touted his rapport with Putin, criticized current President Joe Biden, calling him “an embarrassment to our nation.” He claimed that the three-year-old conflict “never would have happened” if he had been in office in 2022. Trump also revealed he has a concrete plan to swiftly end the crisis, stating, “Every day people are dying. This war is so bad in Ukraine. I want to end this damn thing.”
The former president highlighted the human toll of the war, describing the deaths of “young, beautiful people” as tragic and unnecessary. He urged National Security Advisor Mike Waltz to expedite peace talks, emphasizing the urgency of saving lives on both sides of the conflict.
In a related development, US Vice President JD Vance is set to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference next week. Trump also proposed a $500 million deal with Ukraine, offering security guarantees in exchange for access to rare-earth minerals and gas.
