Trump Proposes Three Conditions for Ukraine Peace

Read Time:57 Second

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has presented a three-point peace plan to end the Ukraine war by May 9, a date symbolic for both Europe and Russia.

The first condition requires Ukraine to forgo its NATO membership ambitions, a key demand from Russia aimed at addressing its security concerns. This concession is seen as a critical step toward de-escalation.

The second condition mandates a complete ceasefire across Ukraine by April 20, followed by a phased withdrawal of troops from certain areas. A call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected in February to discuss further details.

The third condition involves a gradual removal of sanctions on Russia over three years. This would restore financial transactions, allow free movement of Russian citizens, and lift trade restrictions on Russian goods and assets.

May 9, celebrated as Europe Day and Victory Day in Russia, has been proposed as the official deadline for ending hostilities. Under the plan, Ukraine would be required to lift martial law and halt military mobilization. While the proposal aims for a swift resolution, it is likely to face significant opposition from global leaders and stakeholders.
