Ahead of his trip to Paris, President-elect Donald Trump delivered a strong message to NATO allies in an interview with journalist Kristen Welker at Trump Tower. He stated that European countries need to shoulder a greater financial burden for the alliance.
“They must pay the bill! If they pay more, we’ll stay, of course,” Trump said, suggesting that the U.S. could reconsider its NATO membership unless European nations increase their contributions.
