During a contentious Oval Office meeting, President Donald Trump reportedly admonished Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of “risking World War Three.” The heated exchange took place as the two nations were finalizing a minerals-for-aid agreement.
Tensions flared when Zelensky advocated for ongoing American support, to which Trump reportedly responded, “Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve a problem.” Vice President JD Vance allegedly criticized Zelensky for insufficient gratitude regarding previous US military assistance and questioned Ukraine’s military conscription practices.
In related developments, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is reportedly preparing to host Zelensky and other European leaders in London to discuss long-term security arrangements. The UK has purportedly supported the US-Ukraine minerals agreement, viewing it as a strategic enhancement of Washington-Kyiv relations.
While hesitant to fully commit US military forces to any future Ukraine peace agreement, Trump reportedly suggested that economic relationships and security arrangements might serve as effective deterrents against further Russian aggression.
The upcoming London summit is expected to convene leaders from across Europe, NATO, and the EU to formulate strategies for Ukraine’s future security and economic stability.
