Sam’s Club®, a part of Walmart Inc., and TechBridge Inc., a nonprofit technology organization with headquarters in Atlanta, have teamed to offer free job training and skill development in Java and cloud computing. This is a ground-breaking partnership. This program is a component of TechBridge’s Technology Career Program (TCP), which aims to upskill local Atlantans and create a diverse pool of competent tech workers.

Twenty-five people will make up the Sam’s Club-sponsored cohort, who will be chosen from the metro Atlanta, Georgia market. Starting on August 21st, the 16-week online course will give participants real job training in areas like as communication, technical interviewing, decision-making, and resume writing, in addition to imparting important technology skills. Six months of career coaching and mentorship will be provided to program graduates to help them on their path to coveted software engineering positions.

Excited about the collaboration, Barbara Augustin, Chief People and Operating Officer at TechBridge, emphasized Sam’s Club’s dedication to reducing generational poverty through support for TCP. The speaker underscored Sam’s Club’s appreciation for career advancement, pointing out that 75% of paid managers began their careers as hourly employees.

In addition to preparing students for careers in software engineering and development, the TCP program offers them a route to lifetime success and upward economic mobility. 721 scholars have graduated from the TCP program since its inception in 2018, equipping them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in the IT sector.

Enrolling in the TCP program gives scholars a foothold in the IT industry and gives them significant experience and expertise that they may use throughout their careers, since the demand for technological skills is growing.

In celebration of its 40th year, Sam’s Club is still revolutionizing warehouse shopping with its carefully chosen selection of premium goods and cutting-edge services like Scan & GoTM, Curbside Pickup, and home delivery in some areas.
