Severe Weather Causes 300+ Emergency Responses in Italy’s Marche Region

Bad weather has hit the Marche region in Italy, causing floods and landslides all over the area as of September 19, 2024. There have been more than 300 emergency calls, and about 260 firemen are currently helping with rescue operations. Some of the hardest-hit areas are Ascoli Piceno, where the SP36 near Ponterotto flooded badly, and places like Cupra Marittima and Grottammare, where rescue teams helped the people who lived there.

There was a big evacuation in Ancona in Osimo, where six people had to leave their homes because of a dangerous landslip. Since the morning, the police have been called to more than 90 cases, and rescue efforts are still going on. Castelferretti, Falconara Marittima, has video footage of firemen and Carabinieri working together to save people from the rising water.

A lot of problems have been caused by this extreme weather in the area, and rescue teams are still working to stop more damage and deaths. Quick action by emergency services has been very important in handling the situation and helping people who have been harmed.
