It is said that Sean “Diddy” Combs, 54, is on suicide watch at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) while he waits to be tried for sex trafficking, crime, and prostitution charges. Combs was caught on September 16 at a hotel in Manhattan. The next day, his warrant was made public, showing the serious charges that were brought against him.
Combs has been denied bail twice after pleading not guilty, and he is still being held at MDC, a prison that has a history of suicides and dangerous conditions. Sources say that putting Combs on suicide watch is just a safety step because no one knows for sure what his mental state is like and there are no signs that he wants to kill himself.
Combs’ lawyer has asked for him to be moved to a jail in New Jersey, but the Bureau of Prisons makes the final choice. According to the complaint, Combs forced his victims to take part in “freak offs,” which were elaborate sex acts that reportedly involved drugs and threats. During raids on his homes earlier this year, police took AR-15 weapons and a lot of baby oil.
On September 24, there will be another meeting.
