Russia’s Military Losses in Ukraine Reach Over 745,000

Read Time:53 Second

Russia’s war in Ukraine has taken a devastating toll on its military, with the total number of soldiers killed or wounded now exceeding 745,000. Recent reports from Ukraine’s top general indicate that over 1,780 Russian casualties were recorded in just one day, adding to a growing tally since the war began in 2022.

Estimates from multiple sources, including The Economist, suggest that between 462,000 and 728,000 Russian troops have been killed or injured. Of these, more than 140,000 are confirmed deaths, with additional casualties resulting from Ukraine’s counteroffensive and ongoing battles. These losses are especially severe among Russian men aged 20 to 50, and for every soldier killed, multiple others have been seriously wounded, further depleting Russia’s manpower.

Though these numbers represent a massive strain on Russian forces, analysts caution that Russia’s population and recruitment systems may help mitigate the impact on its military strength in the near future. However, the human and strategic cost of the war continues to grow, signaling no end in sight to the heavy fighting.
