Russia-US Negotiations: Progress Possible in 2-3 Months

Read Time:46 Second

A member of the Russian delegation, Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, has revealed key details on ongoing negotiations with the USA. Dmitriev stated that “progress” could be achieved within the next two to three months, emphasizing the need for joint projects, including in the Arctic. He criticized the former Biden administration for lacking the will to understand Russia’s concerns but noted that the US is now more open to dialogue.

According to the Washington Post, Russia’s priorities include lifting sanctions targeting senior officials and easing energy sector restrictions. However, Dmitriev clarified that sanctions relief would not be part of the Riyadh negotiations. He stressed the importance of building bridges between the two nations, calling the relationship “very important for the world.”

This development signals a potential thaw in US-Russia relations, with both sides exploring avenues for cooperation despite ongoing tensions. Stay tuned for updates as negotiations unfold.
