But the Duke of Sussex might be willing to take on a brief royal role if King Charles III asks him to. This could lead to peace between the father and son. Even though he has been away from the British Royal Family since stepping down, new reports say that Harry may be looking for advice from former royal staff, which is a big change from his Hollywood counsellors.
What Prince Harry Says: You can’t go back until William says sorry.
The Daily Mail says that Prince Harry is adamant that he won’t return to royal tasks until Prince William says sorry in a serious way. The brothers haven’t talked to each other in years, and Harry’s open and honest book “Spare” made things worse. In the book, Harry said shocking things about his brother, like that they got into a fight and that there is deep-seated tension between them over his marriage to Meghan Markle.
Even so, people who are close to the Duke of Sussex say that Harry may have ruled out a full-time return to royal duties, but he wouldn’t mind a brief role in the throne if his father, King Charles III, asked him to. This new information suggests that Harry might be easing his stance, especially since there are worries about the King’s health. Recent news stories have said that Charles is fighting a dangerous cancer, which may be affecting Harry’s willingness to fix his relationship with his father.
Relationship with Prince William is tense
When it comes to his friendship with King Charles, Harry may be willing to start over, but not so much with William. The brothers’ relationship has become one of the most talked-about rifts in recent royal history. In both their private and public lives, they seem very different from each other.
According to the Daily Mail, William has ruled out any chance of getting back together with Kate. This is especially true after Harry’s book, which was very negative about many members of the Royal Family. It was said that even though both brothers were there, they didn’t try to talk to each other. Witnesses said the two came in quietly and mixed with the other victims, but they stayed away from everyone else during the service. The brothers’ inability to talk to each other says that their disagreement is still deep and there is no sign of it getting better.

Michael Cole, a former royal reporter for BBC, spoke out about the brothers’ refusal to talk to each other at the funeral of their uncle and said that they might never get along again. He said that Prince William feels deeply betrayed and that Harry’s “snipes” in the media, such as in interviews and a Netflix show, have made things worse between them. Cole said that the funeral was “frosty,” and he also said that his brothers sat apart and didn’t look at each other during the service.
“If Prince Harry imagined that this secret dash and sudden appearance might start to thaw the ice cap that has frozen between them, he was going to be greatly disappointed,” said Cole.
Harry’s Breakup with His Hollywood Advisors and Search for New Direction
In a surprise turn of events, Harry seems to be pulling away from the Hollywood publicists who helped shape his image after becoming king. Reports say that Harry has split ways with a number of important aides. Christine Weil Schirmer, who was Harry’s head of communications, joined the Sussexes’ team in 2020 but quietly quit last year. Schirmer is one of many people who have left the Sussex family; in just three years, 10 staff members have quit.
Harry is allegedly now getting advice from old friends and former royal staff, which could mean a change in approach. A person with knowledge of the situation said that Harry is reconsidering his strategy because he knows that the way he is going now “isn’t working.” The person said that Harry has started to understand how important it is to get back in touch with people who know how the royal family works.
After only three months on the job, Josh Kettler quit as the Sussexes’ chief of staff, which led to this change in advising support. The constant change of staff shows how hard it is for Harry and Meghan to deal with life outside of the Royal Family.
Making peace with King Charles?
Harry and William don’t seem to be able to get along anymore, but people close to the Duke of Sussex say that he wants to get back together with his dad. Friends of Harry say that the Duke doesn’t want to go back to being a royal full-time, but he would be open to brief jobs if they would help calm things down in the family.
Even so, people who know Harry and Meghan say they have no plans to move back to the U.K. any time soon. They have made a life for themselves in California, where they have lived with their two kids for four years.
Finally, Harry may be getting more open to the idea of helping his dad in a small way, but his bond with William is still very broken. It doesn’t look like the brothers will be able to get along anytime soon until the Prince of Wales says sorry.
