The great Paul Scholes of Manchester United has put his support behind Arsenal in the current Premier League championship fight, indicating that Mikel Arteta’s team is ready for victory this year. The former England player, Scholes, stated that he believes Arsenal can overthrow Manchester City, who have dominated the league by winning the previous two championships.
Speaking on beIN Sports, Scholes emphasised the tremendous strides Arsenal has made in the last several years under Arteta’s direction. As last year, I believe the favourites in the Premier League will remain the same. I believe City will win, with Arsenal coming in second,” Scholes stated. “I’ve stated on a few occasions that I think Arsenal will win it this year. In my opinion, they have improved, particularly with Mikel Arteta, during the past few years. Simply put, I believe that they are prepared to win it this year.”
In an effort to challenge City’s supremacy, Arsenal, who came just short of winning the title the previous season, strengthened their roster during the summer transfer window. The Gunners are seen as strong title challengers thanks to their recent high-profile additions.
With their reputation as one of the biggest teams in English football, Manchester City is still the side to beat. Scholes’ support for Arsenal, nevertheless, suggests that he thinks the North London team has a chance to win the championship again after losing it in 2004.
