Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk condemned Russia’s latest drone and missile strikes on Ukraine, calling the aggression a result of appeasement. On Saturday, Tusk took to X to express his outrage, stating, “This is what happens when someone appeases barbarians.” He highlighted the devastating impact on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and civilian areas, particularly in Odessa.
The attacks follow the US decision to halt intelligence and military aid to Ukraine, a move Tusk subtly criticized. He warned that such appeasement leads to “more bombs, more aggression, more victims.”
Poland, a staunch NATO ally, leads in defense spending, allocating 4.12% of its GDP in 2024—higher than the US’s 3.38%. Tusk emphasized Poland’s commitment to strengthening defense, including talks with France on deploying nuclear weapons to safeguard Europe.
As tensions escalate, Tusk’s remarks underscore the urgent need for unified support against Russian aggression.
