Oliver Bearman Wants to Win the F1 World Championship and the Ferrari Dream

Read Time:3 Minute, 57 Second

Owen Bearman, a British Formula 1 driver, wants to win the world championship and drive for Ferrari. The young racing star, who is only 19, is getting ready for his second F1 race, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. He will drive for Haas after Kevin Magnussen was suspended.

Two Goals: Win the World Championship and Drive a Ferrari

Bearman, who signed a multi-year deal with Haas in July, has big plans for his career, even though it’s still early on. In an interview with BBC Sport, he talked about his goals to become an F1 world champion and to one day drive for Ferrari, the team that helped him grow through their driving school.

“One day, I hope to be competing for a world title.” Bearman said, “My life goal is to win an F1 world championship.” “I’m young, and I have a lot of time ahead of me to hopefully stay within F1, and these are really the early days that I want to enjoy and learn as much as I can.”

From Ferrari’s Academy to the Top of Formula One

Because he learned how to be a driver through Ferrari’s school, Bearman has a long history with the company. When he took over for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in March, his performance was very important. Bearman placed seventh in an F1 race, making him the youngest Briton to ever do so. He was only 18 years old.

He thinks of that race in Jeddah as a turning point in his career: “That performance was a big part of getting my seat with Haas for 2025.” That’s where my direct future lies.

Bearman also said nice things about Ferrari’s choice to sign his F1 hero and fellow Briton Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 season. “I’m glad Lewis is going to Ferrari.” I think this mix will work really well together. I hope everything goes well for him, and one day I’d love to be in red too.

Getting ready for Baku: Stress and Sacrifices

Because Magnussen was given a penalty point ban, Bearman will have a chance to race in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The young driver has had more time to get ready this time than when he was called up at the last minute in Jeddah.

Bearman said, “I’ll try to keep the emotions away from it as much as possible, because that makes your life a bit easier.” He knew that he would be nervous before his race in Baku. Of course, I’ll be a little scared when those lights come on.”

His attention is not on the outcome, but on how well he does himself. “I don’t really base my expectations on results, but on how well I do personally.” I want to push myself to the limit, get stronger slowly, and use it as a test for next year.

The Road to Formula 1: Giving Up Things and Dedicating Yourself

Bearman has had to make adjustments for himself and his family along the way to get to Formula 1. Bearman thought back to his childhood and remembered how his family put off home improvements so they could buy him his first go-kart for Christmas. “My mom might not have been happy with Santa’s gift of my first go-kart at the time, but it was a great present.” In my eyes, it was definitely a sacrifice that was worth making!”

He went to Modena, Italy, when he was only 16 years old to join the Ferrari Driver Academy. Even though it was hard to get used to living without family and friends, he thinks that these sacrifices were important to follow his dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver.

Bearman said, “I’m sure it will come with a lot more sacrifices in the future.” “I will miss my friends’ weddings and other events as they get older.” It’s just how life is. Racing has always been the most important thing, and it always will be. That’s the kind of drive and desire you need to achieve.”

Keep your eyes on the future

Oliver Bearman is getting ready for his second Formula 1 race, but he is still thinking about the bigger picture: he wants to have a long and successful career in F1, with a Ferrari drive and the world championship title as his ultimate goals. Because of his skill, his drive, and the things he has given up, he is becoming a rising star in the sport.

Bearman is determined to make the most of the years that are still ahead of him. The teen driver will continue to learn, get better, and work toward his goal of becoming one of the greats in Formula 1.
