Lando Norris has pinpointed McLaren’s edge over Red Bull in this season’s heated Formula 1 title race. Although he trails Max Verstappen by 52 points, Norris remains optimistic about making a strong comeback before the final race in Abu Dhabi on December 8.
Recent performances have seen McLaren rise to the top of the Constructors’ standings. Norris has won two out of the last four races, while teammate Oscar Piastri also claimed victory in Baku. This has boosted McLaren’s momentum in their battle against Red Bull.
Norris knows the challenge ahead is steep but believes McLaren’s recent innovations, like their modified “mini-DRS” rear wing, give them an advantage. “We’re faster right now because of smarter strategies,” Norris said. He praised the team’s ability to innovate and stay ahead in key areas.
Despite Verstappen’s seven wins compared to Norris’s three, the British driver remains determined. “I’m giving it everything, and so is Max. It’s a fierce battle,” Norris added.
With six races and three sprint races remaining, Norris aims to keep up the pressure, starting with the United States Grand Prix in Austin on October 18-20.
