Lithuania wants NATO to do something about the Russian drones that are flying over its area. Laurynas Kasciunas, the defense minister of Lithuania, said that NATO planes stationed in the Baltic States should be able to shoot down Russian drones that fly into NATO airspace.
The call comes after a Russian bomb-carrying kamikaze drone crashed in Latvia over the weekend. Reports say the drone came in from Belarus, which makes people worry about Russian invasions. During the same time period, Russian drones were also seen in Romanian skies.
At the moment, NATO planes fly over Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, but they are not allowed to attack drones. As Russia’s violations get worse, Lithuania calls for a stronger reaction and asks NATO to protect its airspace and make sure the area is safe.
