Once again, Multan Sultans demonstrated their supremacy in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by clinching their fourth successive final berth, triumphing convincingly by seven wickets over Peshawar Zalmi in the qualifier match held on Thursday.
With a title win in 2021 and consecutive final appearances in the preceding editions, Multan Sultans entered the encounter with formidable momentum. Led by the reliable Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi posed a significant challenge, aiming to disrupt Multan’s impressive streak.
The match unfolded amid a buzzing stadium filled with anticipation. Peshawar Zalmi, batting first, aimed to set a daunting target. However, Multan’s disciplined bowling attack, despite missing key player Naveen-ul-Haq, contained Peshawar to a below-par total of 146-7.

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling attack, missing the prowess of Naveen-ul-Haq, struggled to contain Multan’s momentum. Left-arm spinner Mehran Mumtaz, striving to make an impact, found it challenging to break through Multan’s resilient batting lineup. Although he dismissed Yasir Khan, his efforts fell short against Multan’s surge towards victory.
Multan Sultans’ clinical display not only secured their place in the PSL final but also reaffirmed their position as a dominant force in the tournament. With aspirations to reclaim the coveted title, Multan Sultans exhibited confidence and resolve, leaving their opponents trailing.
