Morocco has set a new tourism benchmark, attracting an unprecedented 17.4 million visitors in 2024, surpassing its 2026 target outlined in the national tourism roadmap. This represents a remarkable 20% growth from 2023, with nearly 3 million additional tourists exploring the country’s offerings.

Foreign tourists (TES) accounted for 8.8 million arrivals, a 23% increase, while Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE) contributed 8.6 million, up by 17%. The balanced share of TES and MRE visitors, at 51% and 49%, highlights Morocco’s universal appeal to diverse traveler segments.

Tourism numbers are also 35% higher than pre-pandemic levels in 2019, showcasing the success of Morocco’s strategic investments in the sector. As Africa’s leading travel destination, Morocco continues to shine on the global stage with its cultural richness and improved infrastructure.

“This outstanding performance is a testament to the efforts of public and private stakeholders who have propelled Morocco’s tourism sector to new heights,” said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism.

With this momentum, Morocco is solidifying its status as a premier global travel destination.
