On Friday at the Grand Stade d’Agadir, Morocco beat Gabon 4-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025 qualifiers. This showed that Morocco is the better football team. The Atlas Lions’ win showed how talented they are, even though they already had the spot as guests.
In the 10th minute, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli was fouled, and Hakim Ziyech scored the first goal from the penalty spot. Soon after, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a penalty kick that he missed, giving Morocco the lead again.
Soufiane Rahimi got another penalty kick in the 26th minute, which Ziyech used to score his second goal. Before halfway, Gabon cut the gap by one goal, thanks to Aubameyang’s penalty kick in the 40th minute.
This time, Morocco was in charge in the second half, and in the 59th minute, Brahim Diaz scored. In the 82nd minute, Ayoub El Kaabi scored the game-winning goal soon after coming on as a replacement.
With this huge win, Morocco solidifies its position as one of the best teams in the CAN 2025 qualifiers, even though they were already qualified. The Atlas Lions are still the best team in Group B. They play Gabon, the Central African Republic, and Lesotho.
