Many Guests Left Stranded Following Cars Being Town Away During Trump Rally in Charlotte: Report

Read Time:2 Minute, 24 Second

At a campaign rally on Wednesday, dozens of Donald Trump supporters in North Carolina were apparently given permission to park in a Dunkin’ parking lot. They were horrified to learn, however, that their cars had been towed. The former president’s first public campaign appearance since President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 contest and an attempted murder of Trump occurred at the Charlotte rally.

After the attempted assassination, the Secret Service has warned against holding outdoor protests in support of the former president. This did not stop Trump from hosting a sizable event in Charlotte, though. Unfortunately, many participants’ evening was soured when they learned their automobiles had been towed.

Participants informed WBTV that the Dunkin’ manager had given them permission to park in the lot while the event was going on. However, the management said that when contacted for comment, many persons were told they were not allowed to park there and that there were obvious signs indicating that parking was reserved for customers only.

A Dunkin’ representative informed Fox News Digital that rally participants did not have authorization to park in the lot. They stressed that there are signs on the roadway warning anyone who are not clients that they might be towed. The spokesman speculated that the source of the false information could have been the pub across from Dunkin’, which was also organizing a demonstration.

According to reports, tow trucks showed up during the rally and started pulling cars out of the parking area. Attendee Zander DeSoto of the Trump event told WBTV, “The managers inside promised that they could park here.” “Some of the people here even gave money to the people inside.”

The fact that those whose cars were towed had to spend hundreds of dollars to get their automobiles back made the situation worse. “Something very fishy [is] going on here because I’ve never seen anything like this happen before,” a participant told WBTV. “The whole parking lot is gone … everybody,” he said. “The doors were locked. They refuse to respond to our calls or even to our requests at the window.”

After spending more than two hours traveling to the event, a family informed WBTV that they returned home to discover their car gone. The firm in charge of pulling automobiles out of the parking lot, Gotcha pulling & Recovery, said that there were notices warning of the dangers of towing and that the only option to get the cars back was to pay a $380 towing fee.

A Dunkin’ representative made it clear that the firm was unrelated to them and that the towing business was contracted out either privately or via the city, not by Dunkin’.

Many Trump fans are now angry and broke as a result of this episode, which has escalated the atmosphere around the rally and raised concerns about parking and communication at major political gatherings.
