Manistique, Michigan – Manistique is getting ready for a grand celebration of Independence Day on July 5 and 6, complete with parades, fireworks, and a plethora of events taking place in the downtown area. The community is expected to come together for a fun-filled weekend of celebrations thanks to this yearly event.

The popular Kiddie Parade begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 5, to kick off the festivities. Youngsters of all ages will congregate to demonstrate their patriotism by marching through the streets. Everyone will have plenty of time to get dressed and take part in the festivities as the Kiddie Parade lineup starts at 5:30 p.m.

The excitement continues on Saturday, July 6, when the Annual Independence Day Parade gets underway at 12:30 p.m. The Manistique High School Marching Band will provide a nostalgic tour through time as part of this year’s “Blast from the Past” theme. At 11:30 a.m., parade participants will begin lining up in anticipation of an amazing march through the center of the city.

On Saturday, there will be a lot going on in Downtown Manistique all day. There will be a range of delectable foods available from food sellers, and there will be unique buying options at the arts and crafts market. The dynamic Social District of the city and these events run concurrently, resulting in a lively atmosphere that appeals to both locals and visitors.

At sunset on Saturday, the celebration will climax with a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sky and provide the ideal conclusion to the fun.

Executive Director of Schoolcraft Tourism & Commerce Victoria George stressed the value of the Fourth of July festivities to the community’s economy. “In the Upper Peninsula and in our own Schoolcraft County, July Fourth is a very popular travel period,” she stated. “Our Folk Fest weekend and the Fourth of July bring in the most visitors, which is definitely beneficial to our economy.”
