In a new development, Dublin’s Sheephill Avenue resident Brandon Hennessy, 20, has been accused in relation to Tristan Sherry’s Christmas Eve killing at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, Republic of Ireland. He appeared in court.
On December 24, a shooting incident at the restaurant claimed the life of 26-year-old Tristan Sherry. Hennessy is accused of using a steel-handled brush as a weapon during the altercation and of causing violent disturbance.
Declarative evidence presented in Blanchardstown District Court indicated that Brandon Hennessy “retaliated” following the death of his father, Jason Hennessy, from gun-related injuries sustained in the same incident. On January 4, another person who was shot during the same incident—48-year-old Jason Hennessy Sr.—died.
A Garda officer said during Friday’s court proceedings that Mr. Hennessy stayed mute when he was charged on Sunday at around 21:00 local time. The sergeant clarified that Hennessy and a few other people were involved in an incident at Browne’s Steakhouse, which led to the accusations.
The accused’s father had been slain, the defence attorney told the court, and it is claimed that Brandon Hennessy had taken revenge on the assassin.
No one objected to Hennessy’s bail despite the charges, as long as certain requirements were fulfilled. After being set free, he is expected back in court on March 12.
The seventh person to face charges in relation to the gun attack is Brandon Hennessy. Other suspects in the murder of Tristan Sherry include David Amah, 18, of Hazel Grove, Portrane Road, Donabate, Dublin; Michael Andrecut, 22, of Sheephill Avenue in Dublin 15; and a 17-year-old kid who cannot be identified because he is a child.
