Snowfall as heavy as 3cm per hour is expected to fall on Newcastle, Manchester, and Leeds within the next few days, so residents there should prepare for wintry weather.
According to WXCharts maps, the area is experiencing cold temperatures, and wintry weather is predicted to start on March 20. Manchester and Leeds are expected to get the most severe snowfall on March 24, and Scotland is expected to see snowfall on March 25 and 26.
The Met Office issues a warning for an unsettling but moderate weather pattern that is expected to last into the weekend. On Saturday, rain and cloud cover are expected to increase as they move west, and on Sunday, there may be heavy showers.
Between March 15 and 26, temperatures are predicted to gradually decline toward slightly above average, with sporadic showers, especially in the west.
The Met Office projects higher-than-average pressure to the north of the UK from March 26 to April 9, which will move the emphasis of unruly weather further south.
This trend implies that while circumstances in the north may be drier, there may be more rainfall in the southern regions. The overall predicted temperature is close to average or little above, with colder spells possibly in the north.
