stated that “After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance of the Great State of Ohio.” He praised Vance’s accomplishments, pointing out that his autobiography, Hillbilly Elegy, was made into a hit movie and went on to become a best-seller. Trump highlighted that Vance will prioritize serving American farmers and workers, especially in states that are important to the country like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Minnesota.

Highlights of the Convention and Vice Candidates

Other notable politicians that were contemplated for the vice presidential candidacy were Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota. The RNC, which is being held in the Fiserv Forum venue, is the first comprehensive convention for presidential nominations since 2016. There will be multiple presentations, policy debates, and strategic planning sessions during the event, which is scheduled to end on Thursday.

Post-Attack Security Concerns

Trump is making his first appearance at the convention since the Butler, Pennsylvania, incident, in which he was forced to leave the stage abruptly after an attempted attack.
