In the current outbreak, the most commonly reported meats among those who have fallen ill include:

  • Ham

The CDC notes that meats sliced at deli counters are likely the source of the outbreak. However, there is insufficient information to pinpoint which specific deli meats are contaminated.

Preventive Measures

To prevent listeria infection, the CDC advises high-risk groups, including pregnant individuals, those over 65, and people with weakened immune systems, to follow these guidelines:
