Hundreds of people assemble for a solemn event at the Redemptorist Catholic Church to say goodbye to Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was sadly killed in the Chiefs parade shooting on February 14. She is 43 years old, and her influence on Kansas City is obvious from the large turnout for her funeral.

Every seat was occupied by friends, family, and community members in remembrance of Lisa’s life and legacy. Her dynamic involvement in the community was highlighted by pleasant recollections of her as a previous DJ, spinning records at different gatherings.

Reminiscent about Lisa’s early years, close friends described her as a person with a great heart, rooted strongly in her heritage, and liked by everyone. Union Station was lit up in the colors of the Mexican flag to honor her legacy and influence.

Bishop James Johnston and Mayor Quinton Lucas joined the throng, demonstrating the enormous regard and adoration Lisa was held in. In spite of the sadness caused by her premature death, her life and the positive influence she had on others around her were celebrated by the bereaved.

In a heartfelt gesture, the Hispanic daily in Kansas City devoted a whole issue to her remembrance, emphasizing the significant influence she had on many lives.

The community honors Lisa’s life and emphasizes the value of valuing the goodness she exemplified as a source of strength during this difficult time.
