As the Commanders play their last practice game of the summer against the New England Patriots, attention turns to bigger, longer-term choices. The search for a new stadium stands out. Harris has made it clear that the Commanders are determined to find the best place. They are already working hard on this, but it will take some time to finish.
Harris recently said about the search for a new stadium, “We’re working really hard.” “Finding our next home is taking up a lot of my time.” These words show how important this job is, not just for Harris but for the whole series and its fans.
Looking for a New House
The process of finding a new arena is complicated and involves many people, such as fans, city leaders, and developers. Washington, D.C., has been working hard to get the Commanders back to the city, especially to the site of RFK Stadium, which has a lot of history with the team. “If you look at what’s happening in the Senate realistically, and now I’m really getting outta my depth, there’s not a lot happening, right?,” Harris pointed out. “Everyone is thinking about the election.” This is the kind of thing that would have to be part of a group of bills that are passed during the last few days of the session. It’s not likely that will happen before the election.
Making a Team That Can Compete
The Commanders are working hard to build a strong team while the venue search goes on. The team is feeling more hopeful now that they have the No. 2 overall pick, Jayden Daniels, who could become the star quarterback. Harris is excited about what Daniels could do and how he could affect the future of the team.
“I’m really excited that Jayden is with us.” He said, “I’m really happy about the pick.” “Look, you all watch the same things I do, right?” He hasn’t been on the field that much, but you can see how we move down the field to a different level. Also, he was the first person at the training center and the last person to leave. He was a real friend, a real leader, a real athlete, and just a great person to be around. That’s why I think I’m very, very hopeful and excited to watch him this season.
