In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, legendary actress and activist Jane Fonda expressed admiration for Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. Fonda, a lifelong advocate for political activism, believes Swift’s support will make a significant impact.
“I think she’s awesome. She’s amazing and very smart, and I’m very grateful and excited that she did it,” Fonda shared. She praised Swift for her courage, adding, “It’s going to have a big impact.”
Fonda went on to emphasize the importance of voting, especially given current global conflicts like the Israel-Hamas war. She urged young people to vote, warning that if they don’t, their voices won’t be heard. “If the young people stay home, we’re going to lose. They have such power. So show us your power. Vote and then fight.”
Earlier this month, Swift endorsed Harris after the first presidential debate, calling her a “steady-handed, gifted leader.” Swift also criticized Donald Trump for posting doctored AI images implying her support for him, stressing the dangers of misinformation. By voicing her political stance, Swift aimed to clear any confusion and encouraged voters to fight misinformation with truth.
Kamala Harris responded to Swift’s endorsement in a WIRED interview, saying, “I am very proud to have the support of Taylor Swift. She’s an incredible artist and has had the courage to stand up for what’s right.”
