Read Time:35 Second

Emmanuel Macron delivered remarks to Morocco’s parliamentary chambers during a state visit to Rabat, meeting with House of Representatives President Rachid Talbi Alami and House of Councillors President Mohamed Ould Errachid at the Royal Guest Palace. The October 29 parliamentary address represented a significant moment in Macron’s official visit, which came at King Mohammed VI’s invitation.

In his address, Macron emphasized France’s backing of Morocco’s position on the Sahara issue, supporting Rabat’s autonomy initiative. This position echoed sentiments expressed in his correspondence with King Mohammed VI during Morocco’s Throne Day celebrations in July.

The French President, who was joined by First Lady Brigitte Macron, scheduled the diplomatic mission through October 30 to strengthen Franco-Moroccan relations.
