Today at Dolton Village Hall, the FBI carried out a major operation that raised suspicions about suspected wrongdoing in the local administration and served subpoenas.

An FBI representative stated that agents showed up at the village hall around 2:15 p.m. At first, the doors were closed, and agents had to prove who they were in order to enter.
A variety of documents are the subject of the subpoenas, including disciplinary reports, personnel files, and employment records for more than a dozen Dolton employees. A different subpoena also focuses on Keith Freeman, Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s top adviser, who is accused of bankruptcy fraud.
Legislative counsel for certain Dolton trustees who were against Henyard, Burt Odelson, described the state of affairs as the falling of a “house of cards.”

A representative for Mayor Henyard refuted reports of a raid at the village hall and declined to comment further.
This comes after months of investigation against Mayor Henyard, which included claims of political opponent retaliation and dubious use of public funds. Allegations have been made against Henyard’s administration for unlawfully authorizing vendor payments.
The recent indictment of Keith Freeman on allegations of hiding money from Dolton aligns with the actions of the FBI.
