Elon Musk called the Australian government “fascists” in an angry X reaction after it suggested harsh punishments for social media sites that don’t fight fake news. If an Australian government bill is passed, platforms that allow the spread of “fake news” could be fined up to 5% of their global sales. Musk strongly supports free speech and strongly disagrees with what he sees as government abuse. He spoke out against the move. A lot of people are talking about censorship and the role of tech giants in controlling material because of what the millionaire said.
