Trump’s Animated Reaction on Truth Social
The 78-year-old Trump did not hold back in denouncing Biden’s speech as “full of lies” and alleging that the president was trying to rewrite history by taking credit for the economic advancements that he claims were started when he was in office. Trump made these remarks in a series of tweets on Truth Social. Trump’s outburst was centred mostly on Biden’s claims about economic growth and job creation, two areas in which Trump has continuously exalted the achievements of his administration.
In a letter, Trump said that Biden was attempting to dupe the American people by claiming credit for the 60 million jobs that were made possible by the solid foundation his government established. “Everything he is taking credit for—reduced unemployment, closing the wealth gap between races—was made possible by the policies I implemented!”
Charges of Misrepresentations and Exclusions
Trump’s outrage extended beyond the creation of jobs. He charged that Biden purposefully ignored the most contentious facets of his administration, such the disorganised exit from Afghanistan and the continued difficulties associated with the COVID-19 outbreak. Trump has regularly attacked Biden’s handling of these matters, usually drawing negative comparisons between it and his own administration.
Since he is aware that the war in Afghanistan was a complete failure, he avoids discussing it. And even though Biden inherited the vaccinations that I fought to create, more people died from COVID under his administration than under mine, Trump asserted. These claims are consistent with Trump’s narrative, which holds that Biden mishandled situations that were under control when he departed office.

Additionally, Trump took use of the occasion to criticise Biden’s immigration policies, claiming that they have resulted in an illegal immigration crisis that is negatively impacting Black and Hispanic communities—diademographics that both parties are fighting for in the next election. Trump has always presented immigration as a serious problem that disproportionately impacts communities of colour, frequently presenting himself as their champion.
“Our towns are collapsing under Biden’s open border policy. Trump said, “The Black and Hispanic communities are being hit the hardest, and yet he pretends he’s their saviour,” reiterating his extreme immigration position, which continues to be a fundamental component of his political persona.
Biden’s Support for Harris and Defence of Democracy
In addition to being a forum for self-promotion, Biden used his DNC speech to stress the significance of upholding American democracy. Biden emphasised that genuine patriotism included honouring the nation and its democratic procedures, regardless of election outcomes, in a pointed statement that many saw as a subtly critical jab at Trump. This was an obvious allusion to Trump’s ongoing allegations of election fraud following his defeat in 2020.
Furthermore, Biden used the chance to firmly support Vice President Kamala Harris, hailing her moral rectitude and portraying her as an exemplar of the American ideal. Following his decision to withdraw from the reelection race and fully support Harris as the Democratic contender for 2024, Biden made this endorsement. In the event that Harris wins and becomes the country’s first female president, Biden’s support for her creates the conditions for a possibly historic election.
