The British Army has confirmed its readiness to deploy troops to Ukraine if instructed by the government. This announcement comes as the UK participates in NATO’s largest exercise of the year, Steadfast Dart 2025, which is taking place in Romania, just 16 miles (25 km) from the Ukrainian border.
Brigadier Andy Watson, leading the British forces in the exercise, stated that his brigade is “absolutely ready” should deployment orders be issued. This declaration underscores the UK’s commitment to supporting Ukraine while highlighting its military preparedness.
NATO’s Steadfast Dart 2025: Strength and Strategy
Steadfast Dart 2025 is a large-scale NATO military exercise aimed at demonstrating the alliance’s rapid response capabilities. The UK has deployed more than 2,600 personnel and over 700 military vehicles as part of its contribution. In total, more than 10,000 troops from multiple NATO countries are involved, conducting operations across Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece to enhance interoperability and readiness.
