In a strange occurrence that occurred last Thursday, an individual on an Aeromexico flight headed for Guatemala unlocked an emergency exit door, leading to his arrest by officials at Mexico City International Airport. Long delays and a lack of support, according to passengers on board, were the cause of the shocking incident.
The event, which happened Thursday morning while the aircraft was preparing to take off, was confirmed by a statement sent by Mexico City International Airport. In the airport’s social media post, it was stated that the man “posed on a wing and re-entered the cabin, without any harm to anyone… or the aircraft.”
Travellers vented their annoyance on social media by posting stories of spending hours stuck on the tarmac without access to water or adequate ventilation as the flight was delayed. Passengers noted in a letter that was translated from Spanish, “The conditions that were created by the delay and lack of air threatened the passengers’ health.” He kept us alive.”
Posting a picture of a handwritten note, someone purporting to be on board said, “The emergency exit was opened out of desperation after leaving us locked in for almost 4 hours without ventilation and without water.” The same passenger reported old people who were about to pass out, closed doors, and a lack of information.
According to an incident report submitted to airport authorities and obtained by the Associated Press, a passenger became displeased, causing them to open the emergency door and walk out onto the wing. The event required a plane change.
The online declaration, which was signed by at least 77 passengers on aircraft AM672, demonstrated the growing annoyance of travellers as a result of the protracted delay. As required by international security protocols, the man who unlocked the emergency exit door has been turned over to the authorities. To ascertain any charges pertaining to the breach, investigations are currently in progress.
