On Thursday afternoon, a big bear in Sierra Madre made quite a commotion by breaking into five different residences in the course of two hours!
There have been numerous reports of bear activity to the Sierra Madre Police Department, including break-ins at four residences and a garage. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, which happened while one residence was occupied.
The bear was eventually redirected back into the wild by responding authorities after being seen on camera running across the northern section of the city and strolling beside fences. This incident comes after a bear was discovered residing beneath a man’s house in Monrovia, according to a recent report!
Supervisor Kathryn Barger of LA County has responded by requesting that state and wildlife officials take better steps to manage these interactions. If locals feel endangered by wildlife, they should immediately call 911.
