Detroit, Michigan – near a strange turn of events, a 24-year-old man suspected of stealing almost $5,000 from a bank customer had a five-week-old blue pit bull puppy named Bandit nestled snugly inside his pocket, as shocked Roseville Police near Detroit discovered.

The little dog, which could fit in the palm of a hand, was discovered when the accused thief was being arrested. The small dog was given the loving name Bandit by staff at an animal shelter, and once it was released from detention, its owner was reunited with it.

However, according to Jeff Randazzo, the head animal control officer for Macomb County, more research showed that the little dog’s true name is Frappy. Randazzo offered aid to the owner as a courtesy, promising to pay for Frappy’s vaccinations and microchipping. He declared that he would “turn a bad situation into something better,” according to information provided on Tuesday to the Detroit Free Press.

Shortly after the alleged theft, the owner was arrested and charged with larceny from a person. Robbie Lang, his attorney, contests the assertion that the dog was in his client’s pocket during the purported incident.

The unusual case has drawn public attention, bringing to light the unexpected turns that occasionally occur in criminal investigations.
