Read Time:1 Minute, 53 Second

Tornadoes have wrecked devastation throughout areas of Genesee and Calhoun counties, leaving a trail of damage in their wake, in a tragic turn of events. Authorities claim that many tornadoes damaged several buildings in the area, severely disrupting communities and causing extensive power outages.

Early on Wednesday morning, a single tornado in Genesee County destroyed parts of Grand Blanc, knocking out electricity to homes and businesses. Several enormous trees were brought down by the tornado, which struck at roughly 1:20 a.m. and scattered debris from damaged structures. Fortunately, as of the most recent news at 5:30 a.m., there have been no recorded fatalities or injuries.

National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Freitag verified that a tornado had touched down and sent out a team to determine how strong it was. According to reports, the tornado started at Dort Highway and Reid Road and moved eastward, damaging buildings and wreaking damage as it went.

Around 1:30 in the morning, a second tornado struck Marengo Township in Calhoun County, resulting in considerable property damage and power disruptions. The tornado left behind a scene of devastation, with toppled trees and power lines obstructing roads and making it difficult for rescue personnel to access the area, even if there are currently no reports of serious injuries.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, there has been structural damage to structures and traffic blockages that stretch into Marshall Township. In order to determine the complete amount of the damage and guarantee the safety of the locals in the impacted areas, emergency professionals are actively working.

Thousands of people in the Grand Blanc area are without power, according to Consumers Energy’s outage map, and restoration work is anticipated to last the entire day.

Drivers are advised to use caution and stay away from the impacted regions, especially the vicinity of Dort Highway and Reid Road, Dort Highway and Grand Blanc Road, and Dort Highway and Gibson Road.
