NATO’s Plan for Wider Russian Aggression

As the war in Ukraine intensifies, NATO is preparing for the possibility of a broader conflict. A newly disclosed strategy details how American troops and equipment would be swiftly deployed across Europe if Russia extends its attacks beyond Ukraine.

Troops would initially land at key ports in the Netherlands, particularly Rotterdam, before traveling by rail to Germany and Poland. If northern routes were compromised, southern alternatives would be activated, including entry points in Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia, leading to Hungary. Additionally, Greek and Turkish ports could provide access routes to Bulgaria and Romania to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank.
