Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with US President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Saturday, just weeks before his January inauguration.

Meloni’s visit adds to a growing list of global leaders who have traveled to Florida to build relationships with Trump following his November election win. The meeting also featured a private screening of a documentary focused on the challenges faced by conservative lawyers in the legal system. Among the attendees were several individuals nominated for key roles in Trump’s administration, including Marco Rubio, Mike Waltz, and Scott Bessent.

Trump’s first-term hardline policies on Iran, including a “maximum pressure campaign,” were a key point of discussion. Analysts predict that similar approaches could be adopted in his second term.
