Upstate New York experienced massive snowfall, with Orchard Park buried under an astounding 33 inches of snow, courtesy of relentless lake-effect storms.
The Midwest struggled with treacherous ice storms that transformed roadways in Iowa and Nebraska into dangerous passages. Interstate 80 suffered temporary closures as numerous vehicle accidents highlighted the perilous driving conditions.
California witnessed an unusual meteorological event with a rare tornado striking Scotts Valley, located 70 miles south of San Francisco. The tornado caused significant destruction, overturning vehicles, uprooting trees, and injuring several residents. San Francisco itself experienced substantial wind damage, marking its first potential tornado since 2005.
