Trump Confirms Military-Backed Deportation Plan

President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed his intention to use the U.S. military for mass deportations of undocumented immigrants. On November 18, Trump responded to a post by Tom Fitton, director of Judicial Watch, on Truth Social, stating that his incoming administration would declare a national emergency to address illegal immigration. Trump simply replied, “It’s true!”

The plan aims to deport over 11 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the U.S. Human rights organizations have expressed concerns about the devastating impact this could have on vulnerable communities and the rule of law. Economists have also sounded alarms about the potential consequences for the U.S. economy, which is already facing labor shortages.

Trump had previously indicated his willingness to deploy the National Guard for such efforts. In April, he told Time magazine, “If not, I’d use the military.”

While his supporters view this as a firm stand on immigration, critics argue it could harm industries that depend on immigrant labor and damage the U.S.’s global standing. As Trump moves forward with his plans, the debate continues to stir political, economic, and social tensions across the nation.
